All facts come from the official websites of the places, the national park and the rescue services, last checked on 14 October 2026. Where nothing is listed, we found nothing and did not guess. The tidal range comes from BSH gauge data. There is no ranking, because the right place depends on what you want to do. On site, lifeguards, signs and mudflat guides always have the last word.

A lawn on or behind the dyke, often right next to the mudflats. Friedrichskoog, Wremen, Horumersiel and Dagebüll have one.
